Happy 1 year intake anniversary to Bald Eagle 24-390! While it's a strange thing to celebrate, it originally seemed unlikely that 390 would even survive the week. Today we celebrate how far he's come and the fact that his is still with us and progressing towards release!

What's the price tag on public safety? Business owners in The Grove paid taxes, hired private security & were still blamed for not spending more on permits after chaos erupted during Pride weekend. The police said: “The police can’t take responsibility.” https://t.co/ry7U9fIo0l

Teen killed, woman injured following fight outside Washington Ave short-term rental in St. Louis. This is the 517th news report I’ve found of a shooting at a STR since 5/2019. 😔 #HomesNotHotels #NeighborsNotStrangers #CommunityNotCommodity

Baby season is picking up. Recent tornados brought us 16 new patients that were found in the aftermath of the destruction. 12 of those new patients are babies, bringing our baby count for the year up to 67 babies from 6 different species. 22 have been renested with wild families!

The house next door had its roof blown off, but the Shelley House still stands on Labadie in St. Louis after the May 16 tornado. The national landmark is central to a pivotal civil rights case that challenged racial housing discrimination and reshaped U.S. housing law.

The failure of the sky lounge structure may be able to be attributed to the lack of support for the exterior walls. Here are pictures from construction. There wasn’t much of a structure at the corners. The window frames may have been stronger.

Gallows humor from a friend taking in the destruction from a tornado that hit the Central West End, Forest Park, Clayton and more: "Here's how bad it is: The gates to Portland Place have been opened to allow traffic through." #stlwx

Hi @stlcsb, a tree fell down and it appears forestry did not remove the remains after it was cut. I’ve tried submitting previously under 1934266 but it seems the address wasn’t recognized. It’s at the northern corner of Clemens at Belt, just on the SW edge of Visitation Park.

Hi @stlcsb, some tires have been dumped along Hodiamont Tracks between Belt and Union. The address approximately backs up to 5409 Cabanne and 5419 Cabanne if that’s helpful.

Hi @stlcsb, I just wanted to follow up on CSB request 1931162. The resolution said “No evidence of violation” and “it was determined that the property meets or exceeds the minimum standards as required by the City of St. Louis” but surely we have higher standards than this.

Hi @stlcsb Spire is not currently complying with the new ordinance 71943. The steel plate is not fully attached, it is not asphalted down, and does not fully cover the hole. Address is 2332 Arkansas.

Hi @stlcsb, on Forest Park Ave in the EB left lane (not the turn lane) just west of Boyle, there is a big cut out at the manhole cover that's about 6 inches below the road surface. Address is approx 4300 Forest Park at the spot I've circled in yellow.

The dumpster in the foreground is not a city dumpster, showing how commercial trash services are also failing at pickups
Who’s to blame for piles of trash? Right as St. Louis launched a 'trash blitz' to tackle post-storm garbage piles, several refuse truck drivers were pulled off of their routes and into disciplinary hearings. "It throws the whole work day off," one said.

Absolutely heartbreaking. St. Louis Police say a woman is dead after she was hit by a car walking in the street on West Florissant. Her child was in the stroller and is in critical condition. Driver remained on the scene.

With 1 inch left on the ground this morning, that makes 14 straight days with snow on the ground in St Louis. That's the most in 20+ years. With several more cold days ahead, it's likely we'll reach 18 or 19 days, nearing the Top 10 longest stretches with snow on the ground.
