Our youngest Barred Owl baby is the most vocal of our babies. This sound is a food begging noise. This baby is only a few days old and the eyes are still closed. Food calling starts whenever they hear noise or movement that may indicate something that can feed them is nearby.

Aesop, the American crow, came to our Raptor Hospital as a juvenile in 2011. She was found following a mail carrier and begging for food. Once at our hospital, Aesop was determined to be a human imprint. Since Aesop cannot survive on her own, she educates the public at WBS.

Here are our two “new” Andean condors. The male (right) was actually hatched and raised at World Bird Sanctuary, and has returned home. He’s Dorothy’s sibling! The female is new to us. We are building a group of Andeans so we can once again breed and release back to the wild.
