So let me get this straight: We have passengers assaulting flight crews at an unprecedented rate, over politics--do we really need a pilot stoking political rage from the cockpit?
@SouthwestAir
needs to take this incident in hand before the sun sets tonight.
Observations, having just watched Biden’s press conference: He stood up there and answered questions on some of the most complex issues in the world—comfortably , clearly, cogently, and comprehensively. Who dares say that he’s too old? Try to imagine trump on this situation…
Mike Pompeo is a highly qualified nominee. We used to have a tradition here in the Senate of overwhelmingly confirming people to important positions. Unfortunately, we’re in an atmosphere now where that is just not the case.
This statement from NOAA is just a lie. Advisories in this whole sequence from

So bitcoin has lost more than 22% of its value because one guy who you should never follow in the first place hinted that he sold his stake. Sure, let's make it a currency.
How big was this landslide? After weeks of stories claiming the recall was so close it might be days before we had the result, it was called about an hour after polls closed.
Time's up: Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) just expired at midnight, as Congress failed to vote to renew. Healthcare for 9 million children now in grave doubt:
Anyone who watched Trump gasping for air on the WH balcony tonight has to be thinking about the panic in the WH medical unit right now— and at Walter Reed. This is on them.
So In the contest for the worst reporting of the pandemic, NYT puts up a strong contender—somehow ignoring the data in its own story showing that DeSantis fucked things up spectacularly, but giving him a pass.
Florida shows that even a large state that made a strong push to vaccinate people can be crushed by the Delta variant, reaching frightening levels of hospitalizations and deaths.

Reminder of Upton Sinclair's line: "It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it!”

Argument that Becerra can't run HHS because he's not a doctor is the rankest BS. My take, w/ names of the 11 HHS/HEW secs appointed by GOP presidents without healthcare experience. Also, raising Trump picks Price and Azar as paragons is hilariously stupid.
Prediction: Just as GOP "forgot" that Obama got bin Laden after W. didn't even try, GOP will "forget" that Biden crushed the virus after Trump didn't even try.
Must say that every legal filing with more details of the insurrection makes my blood run colder. The US averted a massive political and social upheaval by a hair's breadth. Imperative to punish Trump and his minions for their role grows stronger by the minute.

I honestly don’t know what the best and/or most realistic policy is.
In CA the UC and Cal State systems used to be inexpensive - not free, but not a huge expense. Seems like a good investment, considering that China and India turn out graduates at a min higher rate.

Nate, you don't know what you're talking about on this topic. There isn't any "evidence" supporting the lab leak to evaluate, not a speck. If you've seen any, feel free to tweet back.

's DC-focused perspective on display, saying CA seems "so distant from the political debate...how does CA fit in with the rest of the country?"
Pretty thorough demolition here of the notions that Ben Shapiro is (a) smart, (b) informed, (c) logical, (d) principled. Tell me again why AOS should even have replied to his offer to debate.
Not subject to debate: Pence is guilty of recklessly modeling reckless behavior by not wearing a mask, but the Mayo Clinic is just as guilty for allowing him to flout its own rules.

The first person killed in the building of Hoover Dam was J.G. Tierney, who drowned on December 20, 1922, while surveying in the waters of the Colorado River. Exactly 13 years later, on December 20, 1935, the last man who died was Patrick Tierney, his son.

Imagine how stupid you'd have to be to engage in a debate with a clown whose stock in trade is conspiracy mongering, even with a distinguished family name. And how stupid you'd have to be to think it would be a useful "debate."
HRC was right about the “vast right-wing conspiracy.” She was right about the “basket of deplorables.” Who dares to say she’s wrong about Tulsi Gabbard?
I love how Tulsi outs herself and all the headlines are stupid Hillary freakouts. It’s as though they can’t let go of the reflexive need to trash HRC.
Who, by the way, has been right about everything.

Question: who are these idiots working at Fox News who are shocked, shocked to discover their anchors weren’t telling the truth? Did they really think Tucker, Sean, and Laura believed the shit they were selling? How dumb could they be?
Is this the dumbest, most ignorant article published in The Atlantic this year? It’s in the running: To conflate Anderson, whose work on COVID origins holds up, with Ladapo, an outright and irresponsible fraud, is beneath contempt.
Trump has issued a Presidential Proclamation for National “Character Counts Week” urging Americans to “positively influence the next generation of our Nation's leaders and inspire them to lead lives of virtue and integrity.”
