My favorite question in 2023: What is ignored by the media -- but will be studied by historians? Here's the 9 best examples:

Let's hear him out. Congressman Mark Takano (D-CA) wants to reintroduce the "32-Hour Workweek Act," a piece of legislation that would reduce the traditional 40-hour workweek.

"Zillow analyzed the 50 largest cities in the U.S. looking at the local minimum wage compared to rent price increases and found workers in cities that have set higher minimum wages fare better, even where rent is more expensive than the national average." https://t.co/LLyaDRtZpf

Rent affordability is better in cities with higher minimum wages, even in expensive markets.

My hot take is that most of us have not adequately processed the trauma of the pandemic. And our sprawling, unprocessed trauma chews away at our brains in myriad ways that make us anxious about why we can’t seem to live our lives as instinctively or as joyously as we did in 2019.

Researchers just found that gas stoves are responsible for 12.7% of childhood asthma cases. Recently I read dozens of studies about gas stoves and indoor air quality. I also installed monitors in our home and ran my own tests. Here's what I learned.

Starting tomorrow an NYC law will require employers to display a “good faith salary range” for any open positions, promotion, or transfer opportunity. Which means every NYer is eyeing a raise👀

A police officer in Colorado parked his cruiser on a set of train tracks with a woman inside. A train hit the car and she suffered 9 broken ribs, a fractured sternum, broken arm, and numerous injuries to her head, back, and legs. Fire and arrest this cop. https://t.co/kZsk3S11wz

Hey so rail workers may strike & we are going to hear a lot about how well paid they are as a way to discredit their grievances. Keep in mind this $$ comes with nearly no time off. Not for being sick or bereavement. The workload is actively harming them.

I just witnessed an unconscious woman being raped at the corner of Toulouse & Royal in New Orleans. Two @NOPDNews officers drove by yet ignored the situation. I called 911 and flagged down a third officer. The officer chose not respond and maintained his place on the next corner.

Population density thread because you and I both know you have nothing better to do. Let's start with this cool way to visualize population density, by @undertheraedar. The height of each spike displays the population density in that location.
