Windows 11 has support for kernel CET. Meanwhile, this is a Linux platform running kernel 6.7 that doesn't even utilize userspace shstk let alone support kernelspace shadow stack. Only forward-edge CFI protection with supervisor IBT is enabled. BTW this is Intel RPL CPU.

[SIGMOD] Practical DB-OS Co-Design with Privileged Kernel Bypass. A cornerstone of this work is the libdune project (, which handles the more OS-y side of running a database in kernelspace and letting it modify its own pagetables.

so, procman (process manager i guess?) is a server that runs in kernelspace (???) and it manipulates PTEs directly. but despite being run with PL=0 it would get #GP on wbinvd i've just added because it ran with the wrong code segment -___-

To hell with Rust — I write RV32 RISC-V assembly that runs under Linux on the KianV SoC, touching both userspace and kernelspace. God save assembly. god night!

First #cjdns TUN Interface traffic going through new Rust interface. 1. Multiple threads polling simultaneously.2. sendmmsg / recvmmsg to minimize kernelspace roundtrips.3. Able to support TUN Multi-queue (IFF_MULTI_QUEUE)

🚨🚨🚨 Malware Alert 🚨🚨🚨 Someone posted a wormable malware technique using WMI as a filesystem with the possibility to enter kernelspace and load unsigned drivers. The poster claims to have several 0days implemented within the PoC, of which some are used for undetected

I just wrote a change adding native support for Actually Portable Executable to the FreeBSD Kernel. Thanks to kernelspace loading, fat binaries will be able to load in microseconds without needing to go through /bin/sh.

FWIW, there are technical reasons I can see that Linus is leaning towards pushing Rust into userspace instead of kernelspace, but that doesn't mean it's not a viable choice. Every language has its mavericks that ignore the academic arguments and did something insanely great.

I’m from #Oklahoma—land of tornados, truck nuts, and legislative dumpster fires. Ever watch a state try to ban Wi-Fi? Inspiring. I used to chase fugitives through backyards. Now I chase bugs through kernelspace. Somewhere between law enforcement and LSD, I became an off-grid
