We never claimed you gave it to the French police. But good on you for confirming you can toggle IP logging on and off when a judge asks. Anyway, did a judge order you to disable @phrack, or was that your choice? As far as we know, a CERT isn't a court and can't order you. 🧐

‼️ Proton complied with a CERT request, which is why they disabled journalists' mail accounts. They didn’t even need a subpoena; they just comply with any government request, it seems.
@vxunderground @ProtonMail @phrack We were alerted by a CERT that certain accounts were being misused by hackers in violation of Proton’s Terms of Service. This led to a cluster of accounts being disabled. Our team is now reviewing these cases individually to determine if any can be restored.

Let's not forget when @ProtonPrivacy shared the IP address of a French activist with authorities. The company has widely claimed that it doesn't log users' IP addresses. Weird, huh?
