The #Swifts on our guided walk last night were fantastic! We had 30 or so screaming above us, whizzing past & zooming into nest sites. What amazing birds they are. And just think how many midges they eat! Please record screaming parties & occupied nest sites on the #swiftmapper.

Lunchtime wanderings part two: even better - seeing a Swift go into this Swift box on St Albans Hill, Hemel Hempstead. It was installed a few years ago when @DacorumBC carried out a re-roofing project. Will log it on #Swiftmapper #hertsbirds

Ducked in to the old work office early this morning to map some swift nests on #SwiftMapper as well as a few moths: Brown-tail, Least Carpet, Synaphe punctalis, B. lacticolella, C. culmella, Common Footman. Over 5 years we recorded about 130 species here.
