It's been a while since we had done and inland walk and so we thought we'd have a go at Simonside Ridge today at 1411 feet. The route we took was quite challenging... and a bit windy at the top... but well worth it... ๐

Have you ever wondered what the Jarrow Slake looked like before it was filled in ? Well ....I own an oil of it, painted from Simonside in 1878. Tyne Dock was on the east of the Slake. The painting is of the west side looking towards Hayhole & Howdon. @SouthTyneLibs
