I'd always thought cork (natural or technical) was compulsory for DOCG Barolo. Wrong! Brezza now bottle all their cuvées under Vinolok. Makes you wonder though, for a tannic red wine designed to age gently for 30–40 years… #mwstudyfacts

Still, made by an Aussie winemaker, all the wines are perfectly good to drink chilled, and quite affordable at 10–15€/bottle. The traditional method Tunjung Brut was my fav. #mwstudyfacts

#WinebookoftheWeek. On the eve of #Prowein this seems apt. By economist ⁦@MikeVeseth⁩ it’s one of the best to cover the under-booked subject of the commerce of wine. #MWstudyfacts essential P4 reading. ⁦@WSETglobal⁩ diploma D2 ⁦@Dutch_G

At @FlintVineyard we’re moving away from screwcap towards corks for our full production for vintage 2022. We did some limited run wines under cork last year, and have moved everything to cork this year. #Mwstudyfacts if you need an example in one direction or the other.

A few of you have asked why we are moving to corks for all our future wines. There are a number of reasons – some more scientific some less so! Read Ben’s thoughts here: https://t.co/6FvnbVmxcC
