What is the relative role of key ocean gateways such as the Fram Strait, the Greenland-Scotland ridge and the Drake Passage on climate and the cryosphere during the Cenozoic? Stay tuned for more - PhD article by @EivindStra in review #deepmip #pmip #NorESM #Eocene

Using the DeepMIP models, we find that the early Eocene largely conforms to the “wet-gets-wetter, dry-gets-drier” hypothesis (similar to future projections). However, subtropical precipitation estimates can be higher or lower than modern. This is a bit strange!! (2/5)

Looking forward to #DeepMIP meeting today, kicking off on Zoom in an hour - I’ll be boring people with how the latest #CMIP6 models simulate the West African monsoon under the super warm climate of the early #Eocene. #climate #ClimateChange #AcademicChatter

Awesome new paper on African hydrology in the Eocene by @charliejrwill . Part of the #DeepMIP special issue in @AGU_Paleo . Love this figure which shows the effect of inverting paleorotations to better interpret the proxy data. https://t.co/PDKMNMiJVr
