At a conference in Split, her poster was a hit, and to her surprise, she went and got a prize! Congrats @ana_sampe and thanks for sharing the wonders of deep sea coral. #sclero2019, @UoBEarthScience, @CU_EARTH

Final goodbyes at the 5th International Sclerochronology Conference, Split. I've learned a lot about bivalves, even more about otoliths, and am now so motivated I'm tweeting: a rare event. Thanks everyone! #sclero2019

Not your average Friday. A press conference at the British High Commission, Suva, for showcasing high resolution oceanographic monitoring work in Fiji. @CME_prog, @CU_Changing, @CU_EARTH
Meeting some of the fantastic 🇬🇧 scientists working in 🇫🇯 to help build long-term monitoring of ocean acidification in Suva harbour. Science is GREAT. Gender balance not bad either! @UniSouthPacific @CME_Prog

Lots of sensor whispering in Fiji this week. The sensor has been redeployed in Suva Harbour and is currently measuring pH, temperature, dissolved oxygen, and salinity at half-hour resolution! Wananavu!
Our @CME_Prog sensors spent the day being serviced by @S_Loucaides and the @biogeosensing sensor whisperer. @ukinfiji @NOCnews @pace_sd

An emotional farewell to the wonderful @paul_n_pearson. You will be sorely missed. But here's to many more years of collaboration and foram-based discussion nonetheless. Can anyone guess the cake foram? Clue: it's his favourite. @CU_Changing @CU_EARTH

Huge congratulations to @HenriekaD! It was no surprise you'd ace it but wonderful news nonetheless!
Congratulations Dr. @HenriekaD ! Nice job articulating the complexities of paleoclimate, redox chemistry, and diagenesis in the Bering Sea. Thanks to @jaccsa for traveling to Cardiff and joining the Viva. #womeninstem #MPT #greenbelt

An article from 2012 that made me laugh but also made some excellent points about the dryness of science writing. Always write in the passive voice, folks: 'Science happens in spite of us, not because of us'. #sciencewriting @CU_EARTH @CU_Changing

I felt a little sad slicing Hippo the Clam (3000 year old Fijian giant clam) this week but look at those wonderful growth lines. I can't decide whether the slice looks more like a lamb chop or an apostrophe! #palaeoclimate #hippopushippopus

Great @BBCWorld article on the @CarbFix project in Iceland that is turning carbon dioxide into rock:
bbc.co.uk
A high-tech solution being tested in Iceland gets rid of waste carbon dioxide by pumping it 1,000m underground.
