In Canada you can buy bells to warn bears youโre coming and pepper spray to fend them off. Grizzlies are fiercer than brown bears. To know which are about you examine the scat. Brown bear poop is full of nuts & berries. Grizzly bear poop is full of bells and smells of pepper.

I remember reading (some of) the Bible in school. Along with a lot โSimeon begat Zephaniahโ and smiting by God, it struck me that Jesus was kind to the poor, the sick and the unwanted. Clearly thereโs a lot of โChristiansโ who must have read a different Bible to me.

Iโm reminded that the PLA soldiers sent into Tiananmen Square in โ89 were separated out for weeks, fed propaganda and convinced the peaceful protestors, and most Beijing residents, were violent counter-revolutionaries trying to overthrow the Communist Party.
