Congratulations! Finally a printed version! We often think about translation as mechanical and linear but it is fundamentally, as Ken’s new work shows, a reinterpretation as well as a conversation. Will be recommending it to researchers and my students who are interested🥸
Boston! Join Ken Liu (@kyliu99) tomorrow for the book launch of LAOZI'S DAO DE JING at @HarvardBooks. This event is free and no ticket is required. More info here: https://t.co/USUK9mVYq4

#Sinophagia #TitleReveal FINALE. 娜娜之死 The Death of Nala by Hugo Finalist @gushidoc, who also features in Sinopticon (photo by Marianne Andres). A truly monstrous story of modern China, and really, we have to talk about single children. #books #horror

I co-wrote a piece, “In the Glow of the LíngXī,” on translation, art, and (perhaps?) the occult and the spiritual with Amherst College’s curator Sharon Liu for Art Review Oxford! Huge thanks to Jason Waite for all the support🥸

We're still rebuilding subscriptions (since Amazon abandoned them) and pushing back against the generated submissions on a daily basis. We'd like to keep doing so. The path forward requires us to keep shouting from the rooftops, so... https://t.co/JKayavxpWs Thank you!

I'm in charge of translating the English part, which is also a really interesting journey. The fun is that you can always find many good stuff yet to be introduced to your own culture :-)

This year, the first two of the Hugo Novelettes I read consisted of cozy and light-hearted ways of looking at how society can treat its vulnerable members versus how it actually does. I followed...
