Sometimes doing the right thing is overlooked for the depth of its significance when it requires a passage of time for it to be realised. It must have been joyous but heartbreaking for Ringrose today. In time though his decision will be long remembered for more important reasons.

What a story. Maeve made friends easily.
Sad to hear that Maeve Kyle, Ireland’s first female Olympian in track and field, has passed away. She was a friend. My favourite Maeve story was track side in Florence in 1981 when I handed her my Casio watch and asked her if she could call my lap time out to me as the

I covered the 2000 Seve Trophy at Sunningdale. It was held in April. Cold wet and a bit early in the season for growth. I still thought I was in heaven. It’s that good. Two courses of equal merit. It combines some of the best of parkland & best of links. Still on my bucket list.
"It's a beautiful, beautiful golf course . one of the best venues in the world.". @Padraig_H and @DarrenClarke60 speak on the challenge of this week's Senior Open at Sunningdale.

In the evolution of women’s high athletic achievement in Ireland, the anchor point has always been Maeve Kyle. 3 time Olympian. Semi in ‘64 @ 400m & 800m. 56 Irish senior hockey caps and one of the finest Irish athlete coaches. RIP a true legend, pioneer & just a wonderful woman.
🕯️ 𝐌𝐚𝐞𝐯𝐞 𝐊𝐲𝐥𝐞 𝐑𝐈𝐏 🕯️. Athletics Ireland is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our esteemed Life Vice President Maeve Kyle RIP, aged 96, a true pioneer of Irish sport and one of our most iconic and inspirational athletes. Maeve Kyle was more than a legend; she

Some insight into the notion that Scottie Scheffler is ‘all movement’ at impact. If you pause at contact, both feet are aligned & ‘on the ground’. What happens after impact looks like him ‘clearing’ his left side but the ball is gone by then. Need help on this @LukeKerrDineen😉.
This insane super slow motion video of Scottie Scheffler’s swing has my head spinning. The top position is madness. I never noticed just how insane his width is. His left arm actually bends a lot. The crazy right foot jump is still insane, but it comes later than you think.

Looking good. Top ten here especially so. Last two spots are pretty open. Add Rahm and Fitzpatrick….looks a solid 12 …Maybe an in form ‘bolter’ over the next few weeks could disrupt that. But experience and form crucial I think in the bearpit that will be Bethpage in New York….

Hard to believe this force of nature in the golf broadcast media world is gone. To know Bob was a complete gift, To have Bob rib you with a gentle barb was a privilege. It meant he liked you. He was deeply knowledgeable and fun to be around. As Rupert says, a ‘one off’. RIP Bob.
Sad news that my friend and colleague @BobBubkaVOG has died. He was a one off. I shall miss hearing that delicious voice but more importantly him . Rest in peace

I was fortunate to cover David Gillick’s career…highs & lows…for 13 years, World C’ships 2003 to European C’ships 2016. If you think he’s a good interviewer….(he is!) he was also great interviewee. He poured everything into everything, still does. Worth the wait for this book.
I’m finally telling my story. The Race — my journey through the highs of global athletics to the depths of injury, isolation & everything inbetween. Out this October, @Gill_Books & .@Cathal_Dennehy .I poured everything into this. Hope you enjoy it 🙏.Pre order now - link in bio
