CTE is only confirmed after death. We can't scan for it, we can't test for it. It builds slowly, hit after hit, season after season. By the time it's found, it's too late to help the person who had it but not too late to learn from it. Itโs the sub concussive hits ๐๐ง ๐ข๐ก

Pro rugby should not be advocating GRTP for anything under a mandatory 28 to 30 day minimum. This isnโt anything newโฆ but itโs so important that you have all your best players on the pitch. Itโs about winning not long term brain health right? ๐ง ๐ข๐ก๐

This brutal hit on Alabama freshman WR Derek Meadows gave him a traumatic brain injury & knocked him unconscious. A targeting penalty was called, but it doesn't erase the TBI. Luckily he was able to walk off the field.

Female players take 43โ48% longer to recover from a concussion compared to men. There is a gender data gap in brain injury research. Weโre supporting independent research so we can have targeted studies and preventative strategies that reflect the reality of the womenโs game.

Glad @NFL is investigating this #concussion protocol. Terrible look on national TV to see the head coach appearing to pressure a brain injury evaluation (and yell at a doctor later). Millions saw this, very few will hear that the coach apologized & clarified. Let's do better.
