Race breakdown of that 400m final: . Adeleke hit 200m in 23.29. Ultimately, the difference between her and the medallists is doing that last 50m in 7.26 when they were all 6.9-7.0. The medallists are 26, 26 and 27. She's 21. That last part will come - with time and training.

If ever an athlete deserved a great championship, it's Sarah Healy. So many heartbreaks in the past, so much work to get stronger, physically and mentally. Now she's European Indoor champion. "I'm so happy to do it," she tells the crowd. "There's so many Irish here, so thanks!"

Israel Olatunde is the fastest Irishman of all time. 10.17 to break Paul Hession's national record and finish 6th in the European final. Superb, superb sprinting. What a future he has.

How good was @rhasidatadeleke's Irish indoor record of 50.45 today?. It's quicker than the winning times at 15 out of 18 editions of the World Indoor Champs.

An Irish mile record of 4:14.58 in Monaco for @ciaramageean to take more than 2.5 seconds off Sonia O'Sullivan's mark, which had stood since 1994. The peerless Faith Kipyegon obliterates Sifan Hassan's world record out front with a 4:07.64.

Jake Wightman - couldn't happen to a nicer guy. Astonishing run. And his dad @WightmanGeoff somehow manages to hold it together with a brilliant commentary call in the stadium. "That's my son," he finally says. "And he's the World champion.". #WorldAthleticsChamps.

Ballinrobe's Oisรญn Joyce wins the first ever throws medal for Ireland at the World U20 Championships, throwing an Irish U20 record of 73.89m to win a brilliant javelin bronze in Lima, Peru. "I was bricking it for most of the competition, to be honest with you."

Sha'Carri Richardson - shortly after correcting the 1000th journalist who mispronounced her name - brings laughter from Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce when talking about watching the Jamaican when growing up. Ends with a prickly response to a question from @jgault13

Honestly, the most impressive performance I've ever seen from an Irish teenager. Nick Griggs is only 16, lost his older brother in a car accident last month, and just smashed the best of Europe's U20s. Astonishing.

A fourth gold medal for Ireland ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช in just over 24 hours in Tallinn!. Only 16, Nicholas Griggs uncorks a last kilometre of 2:31 to run away from the field the 3000m! ๐Ÿ’จ . ๐Ÿ“ˆ That title also takes Ireland to the top of the medal table! ๐Ÿฅ‡๐Ÿฅˆ๐Ÿฅ‰. #Tallinn2021

Nancy Kiprop, who finished 4th in the New York City Marathon, will use her $25,000 prize money to grow the school she built in Iten, Kenya for underprivileged children. It's currently got 145 students. "I think next year, because of this, we will have over 200.".๐Ÿ“ธ @dsfisc

Every leg was a stormer, but a special mention warranted for the splits of Thomas Barr (44.90) and Sharlene Mawdsley (49.40) here - both went so, so far beyond themselves tonight once they got the baton in hand.

And they've done it. Thomas Barr, Rhasidat Adeleke, Chris O'Donnell and Sharlene Mawdsley smash the national record and join Sonia O'Sullivan as the only gold medallists for Ireland in the 90-year history of the European Championships. Stunning run.

Superb stuff by Sarah Lavin who breaks Derval O'Rourke's Irish record, clocking 12.62 to finish fifth in the world semi-final. After the year she's had, that is an utterly spectacular performance.

Two months ago, Sarah Lavin lost her boyfriend, Craig Breen, in a rally crash. Somehow, some way, the Limerick Olympian is running on through the grief - as fast as ever. "My heart is broken," she says. "It will be for quite a while.".

What a run from @markenglish_ . Eight years after his first European medal at the age of 21, he wins a bronze medal in Munich - with only the world indoor champion and world outdoor 1500m champion ahead of him. Composed, confident, and pure class from start to finish.

The wait goes on for Rhasidat Adeleke's first global medal, but what an effort by the 21-year-old to try and win one. She comes home 4th in 49.28. The first Irish female sprinter ever to reach an Olympic final. Her time will undoubtedly come. ๐Ÿ“ธ@GettyImages
