i think the most frustrating part of NIMBY leftists is that they believe in supply and demand when it comes to people moving to their neighborhood raising prices (demand), but not when it comes to building more housing lowering prices (supply)

Can't be overstated how pathetic it is to have your ultimate colonial fantasy just be a strip mall

"true walkability"π
Seems like many have forgotten why Austin & Miami, while highly touted in 2021, ended up falling behind SF. Most top operators and engineers simply donβt want to leave SF. Year-round livable weather, world-class universities and research institutions, true walkability, extreme

because they live in new york, not their home town. many of which have lived there longer than youve been alive but you think that birth certificate makes you a "new yorker" while their 30+ years in the city dont. its just woke xenophobia, fuck off
No reading comprehension here. Iβm asking people why do they wanna be *labeled* as New Yorkers, not why do they wanna *move* here π wow

because americans move for the same reasons immigrants do: a better life i fucking hate this woke xenophobia shit
Why do yall wanna be labeled New Yorkers so bad tho? Why not represent ya town/city while you live here? *This question is not for the immigrant community at all, just fellow Americans*

i havent heard people call 70k/yr a yuppie before and im from the 3rd poorest state in the country and lived in a trailer park on and off for many years as a kid. 70k/yr is great money for most people, but does "yuppie" now just mean anyone doing moderately well?
Unless you are a yuppie making $70k a year in one of seven major metros, they probably have nothing for you. And their primary answer on the electoral side is pairing catering to that crowd on policy with some performative cruelty in hopes that magically makes the math work out.

π¨π³ China just pulled off 300 km/h high-speed rail on the Loess Plateau, one of the most unstable terrains on Earth. βDrilling tunnels in soft tofu,β the engineers said. And still, they did it. Meanwhile, some βadvanced democraciesβ need 15 years just to discuss a subway

union president thinks killing a bill to not require 2 conductors per train for zero reason other than increasing costs seems to think that is the same as killing jobs all while spewing blood and soil type rhetoric on main. deplorable behavior
@grayfleur_ You out-of-town mostly lily white Abundance Bros come to the city and try to kill the jobs of thousands of black, brown and immigrant transit workers . You and your ilk are the NOT so thinly veiled racists here. While you and your bloviating echo-chamber crowd are attacking
