EDAtec sent me one along with their CM0NANO development board (which seems to be the official IO Board for the CM0); much of the documentation is linked from their Chinese site, the Pi site just has an overview page and no mention in the docs as of yet.

Performance is practically identical to the Pi Zero 2 W, though I tested it anyway (see https://t.co/e8seDD4mno). It's a Compute Module, but eschews the more fragile Hirose board to board connectors in favor of castellated edges, for easier assembly.

The CM0 is a Pi Zero 2 W, except in stamp form, with castellated edges, so it's easier to pick and place and solder to another PCB. It's only being sold in China currently, for integration into OEM products.

Now that Nvidia GPUs run on the Raspberry Pi, I want to see if they're good for Jellyfin transcoding (e.g. take your old 3060 and throw it on a Pi for a little #homelab media server...). https://t.co/6rKCwYH7PM

TIL (after being forced to use a mouse for a bit) you can hold Shift to scroll horizontally with a mouse scroll wheel in any application on macOS. Who knew?!

I'll probably do a short video on it at some point; but it's basically a Pi Zero 2 W, but in 'stamp' form. It's being built for integration into products where you don't need much compute, but need a well-supported Linux platform. I asked Raspberry Pi why it's not rolling out

Hello there, Raspberry Pi CM0. @EDATEC_Offical sent this to me from China. Unfortunately you can't get these anywhere else! It's basically a Pi Zero 2 W, but in SoM form. And it has castellated edges so it can be pick 'n placed right onto PCBs.

Over on @GeerlingEng, I got a 40+ year veteran radio engineer to review WSQK, the fictional radio station in @Stranger_Things season 5. Video here:

This is gonna sound a little strange, but is polyimide tape safe for someone to have on their tongue for a little bit of time? Hypothetically, I mean. This hypothetical scenario doesn't involve swallowing the polyimide, of course.

Aww, I was hoping the more artsy thumbs would win. At least with the initial video audience, it looks like me in the thumbnail helps. I may re-run the test again next week, once the video's out in 'general' recommendations, and the main audience has already seen it

When you're ready for a revamp of that Mac Studio / render farm bathroom @markiplier, there are plenty of us in the #homelab community who'd be happy to help ;) (cf https://t.co/FqODRoyTTx)

The DC-ROMA II is not a Framework 13... but it is. But you shouldn't buy it—unless you're a RISC-V developer or enthusiast, I guess. It's complicated: https://t.co/pZ0FPNYK6Q

One thing holding me back from adopting a mechanical keyboard was the lack of Touch ID. I fixed that problem and documented the whole process in this video: https://t.co/26TIMDxjqn But now, I wonder: why doesn't Apple sell an external Touch ID sensor?

Just down the aisle, there was also a neat demo from NEC showing 2km fiber Ethernet... running a stable PCIe link. Throw a GPU directly on the WAN... this stuff is wild! https://t.co/UA0tFQoRS0 video with more details from #SC25
Interesting booth at SC25. These guys are doing all sorts of crazy stuff with PCIe. They had multiple physical GPUs shared simultaneously with multiple physical machines (not VMs) over fiber.

The LPDDR4/5 RAM shortage might impact us more than the chip shortages a few years ago, if this holds up. Seeing SBCs go from $35-45 to like $60+ for even low-end models will be sad, but I don't think impossible. It affects smaller manufacturers even more than RPi...
@geerlingguy Last quote for LP4 4GB was $35. More than the rest of the board BOM put together and then some.
