7 Everett football players signed college offers today, with some players still making decisions. Over $2 million in scholarship money for group that averaged about a combined 3.5 GPA in the classroom. Proud is an understatement. They each deserve all the credit and more.

Players crave a person to follow, not a position. They don’t care about job titles or years of experience.
Players care about how much you care about them.
Trust, confidence, and commitment are earned by the person you are, not the position you occupy.

Had the opportunity to attend a college football game today and sat next to a group of about 12 pop Warner kids and their coaches, I believe, from Andover. Loved hearing them chant, cheer, and ask questions. Just a bunch of kids having fun. This is how we build our sport.

I wasn’t a good football player. I had to make my mark by helping at practice. I started thinking about coaching because my coaches said I was a natural. I became a coach because I thought they meant in terms of football, but I found that relationships are far more important.
Coaching kind of found me. I wanted to be everything I wished and hoped for in a coach and never had.
