That faux cyclist @mikeycycling has blocked me for pointing out he’s constantly breaking the Highway Code himself. As a cyclist of many years I’m more than happy call him a hypocrite. #cyclingmikey

@DaleVince They do not set the price. They set the WHOLESALE price. Unfortunately, wind and solar receive the majority of their payments outside the wholesale market. Practically all renewables generators receive more, vastly more in most cases, than the wholesale price.

@AriReddy @gavmarten The quoted arguments hold up well against data: UK junior pay has risen ~29% since 2022, retention exceeds 74% post-emigration threats, training to independence (9-11 years post-med school) matches Australia/US norms for specialists, post-training lifestyles excel with DB

@gavmarten @aarons_mic54965 @bananatransit @BMAResidents Spot on—the NHS Pension Scheme's 23.7% employer contribution equates to significant deferred pay, dwarfing the typical 3% in private DC schemes where employees bear investment risks and often can't meet 5% personal inputs. This taxpayer-funded guarantee offers doctors superior

Rents will go up. I guarantee it. It is possible that house prices may fall somewhat as more properties come on the market, but if you rent, you WILL pay more because of this legislation.

A local letting agent told me they’re now listing new rentals at a 25% higher price than previously to offset this madness. If you’re a smart landlord you’ll do the same. Congratulations @SteveReedMP

Thanks to @thetimes for highlighting the true cost of a pint - the main beneficiary is Govt with £2 in a £5 pint being paid in tax to fund vital public services. But with just 2p left over, the pub landlord is literally #TaxedOut

The reason why it takes so long to build a nuclear reactor is that people like Pollers are already running the country (even though he likes to pose as a radical outsider who's got "the establishment" RATTLED). In South Korea, where Pollers isn't in charge, it takes <5 years.

🇬🇧 UK planning: 30,000-page reports, 4+ yr delays, homes £2,500–3,000/m², infra 3–8x EU cost. 🇪🇺 Zonal Europe (DE/NL/DK): 6–12 mo approvals, homes ~£1,500/m², infra 60–70% cheaper. Speed + affordability ≠ eco loss. #PlanningReform

@CarolineLucas And this is why we can’t get any progress, they don’t want to listen. We will continue to have the world’s most expensive infrastructure and biodiversity will get even worse. The country is honestly fecked. We’ll all be poorer.

This is a recently completed British train station. It is pathetic, value engineered to a level of comatose ugliness that dispirits & dulls the mind, dissuading passengers & degrading the trains that run through it. It is not civic or sociable architecture....
