🧶 THE WEAVER NETWORK 🧶 I respect the link to our industrial history. I like the way it foregrounds connection. But where was the consultation. Public control should have brought the public into shaping our shared future. ⏰ Time to wide out decision making.
West Yorkshire Mayor Tracy Brabin has just announced the name for the region's new integrated transport system... 🧶 THE WEAVER NETWORK The new system relies on the public control of buses, as with the @BeeNetwork. What do you think? 👇👇👇 https://t.co/f1hozY0Wat

We do need great accountability for our Mayors. The model has proven a clear success in many ways. But it's lacking the scrutiny it needs. Accountability should start with newly publicly controlled bus networks, with workers and passengers given a greater voice.
Powerful mayors need watchdogs with bite 🐶 Today we're calling for new for new local Mayoral Authority Accountability Committees to hold leaders to account 🔍 Read the think piece by @zoe_billingham & Mark Sandford, here ⤵️ https://t.co/46zHaYT4dI

Today, we heard ideas from the public on what they would do with a vote over the newly publicly controlled buses. Ideas on everything from how to speed buses up ⏭️ and tackle overcrowding 👥 to serving more communities with fewer buses 🗺️ 🚍 Put the public in public control.

shall we compare and contrast the decisiveness of the FA on trans women (of which there are but a handful) playing versus their non-response to numerous men who are currently, or have faced charges for sexual assault + rape and ask whether they really care about women…

On #InternationalWorkersDay we’re remembering our rights were not given but fought for - and that we must continue to fight against injustice & inequality wherever it exists. Beautiful artwork by Tiago Albuquerque developed for our upcoming Equity conference in Derry. #MayDay

Right now, we’re negotiating with PACT to revise and improve pay and conditions in independent film and TV. The bosses don’t come to us with a pot of cash though - every improvement is fought for by Equity members. Find out more: https://t.co/FhDuQ8JJ4s

The Northumberland Rail project has seen 250,000 riders in the time they forecast for just 50,000 Good news? Well yes, but this begs the question. How many high-demand transit projects like this dont event leave the station due to a wrongly predicted cost-benefit-scenario?
