Second @nwmathconf in a row that I got to see @howie_hua in person. This time, it was a breakfast keynote and I don't know if I've ever had so much fun before the sun was up!

Do you remember when you joined X? I do! #MyXAnniversary I signed up during @gcouros ‘s keynote @CUEBC PSA day conference when he convinced me of having a professional digital presence. Convinced I’m in my current job partly because of it.

Visiting the Hudson Bay at Churchill & seeing the belugas has been a highlight of my life. They are magical as are the polar bears. Really had me realize what is at stake with climate change. Brought back thr experience to the classroom for some of my best x-curric teaching.
Amazing. Watch the video embedded in the story! This it is important to protect the Hudson Bay coastline. Researchers seize the chance to see thousands of beluga whales gather in Hudson Bay – while they still can by @IvanSemeniuk

Today is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Today — and each day, we honour and remember residential school Survivors and the children who never returned home, their families and our communities. Let's work together towards healing, understanding, and reconciliation.

Wishing I was there but looking forward to the @nwmathconf in a few weeks!
“Why does 1 + 1 = 2? Why can’t I divide by 0? Where does math come from? Is math real? The asking of questions is so crucial in mathematics and if we don’t take those questions seriously, we stifle the curiosity from students.” - Eugenia Cheng #NCTMCHI24 @DrEugeniaCheng

Thought-provoking read... "What was most interesting, however, was that sharing a classroom with peers who believed girls are bad at math appeared to lower girls’ scores on the math exam and slightly increase boys’ scores."

Had a Monday night out with one of my teacher besties. UBC Alumni Night at the Museum of Anthropology. Browsed exhibits...I see differently b/c of all the truth learning I have done since my last visit. My brain works differently. Still more to learn.
