I often get asked "What should I do to #grow in my career?" I recently realized that #seniority in different functions have a lot in common. Abstractly, I identify 5 levels of seniority that I illustrate below (with a simple scenario of a leader wanting to cook a burger): 1/7

🔍 Question for AWS users 👇 Do you use any tools that simplify and make it easy to manage your applications, including AWS resources, deployments, host setup, etc? Something like Forge for Laravel, but dedicated to AWS, and allowing generic AWS applications. #aws #automation

Just watched the "Observability for emerging infra" talk by @mipsytipsy. Even though I am a big proponent for testing before production, I do agree with all the points raised! https://t.co/eXZ2bxtrrJ My favourite points raised 👇

A playlist of 30 lectures on mathematical writing by Donald Knuth (and guests). From 1987, but good writing is timeless. Definitely worth watching if you want to level-up your technical writing! Credits to @ayush_sekhari for the pointer. #AcademicChatter https://t.co/MBSJGEfihe

That was an awesome little experiment with my daughter Greta (6 yo). I explained her how Netflix transmits videos to our iPad with numbers, and the run length compression. Then I sent her numbers and in the end she had the same picture in the paper. Simple and effective to learn.

People afraid of AI taking over the world should be required to install a package: preferably something in Julia or tensorflow on a nonstandard architecture.

A Brief History of Philosophy 1. Socrates deletes his account. 2. Plato posts screenshots of Socrates. 3. Aristotle unfollows Plato. 4. Aquinas retweets Jesus. 5. Descartes mutes Aquinas. 6. Locke mutes Descartes. 7. Kant unfollows Locke and Descartes. 8. Hegel subtweets Kant.

I'm wondering about advanced math books with titles that suggest the book is elementary, like Jean Pierre Serre's A Course in Arithmetic. One might think the book was for 1st graders, although few 1st graders learn about p-adic fields. Other deceptive titles?

To clarify, computing an optimal TSP route on 22 points takes 0.005 seconds on my iMac, not the 1000 years reported in @washingtonpost An error factor of 6 trillion. Like reporting the US National Debt is $4. https://t.co/pazNxcdmk2
