The FIDO study can help clinician have informed conversion with parents and carers about the care of febrile infants through our findings. Also it offers cost analsysis and peformance of tailored care for instutions and policy makers when making a decision on which CDA to adopt.

The IBI rate in our cohort was 3.7% and E.Coli being the most common organism. Beyound admission and discharge, patients were also ambulated from home indicating an alternative form of managment.

Main highlights are that the AAP and BSAC CDA offer the best sensitivity and while Arson and NICE fever under 5 had the best specificity. All CDAs were cost effective compared to treat all approach. There was no difference in performance between the AAP with CRP vs PCT.

The FIDO study gives insight into the peformance of tailored CDA not depedent on PCT testing. It also compares the AAP guidances with CRP vs PCT. The FIDO study recruited over 1800 infants presenting to 35 UK and Irish centres over a 1 year period.
