Genuinely the most enraging thing about housing discourse is how people talk about 'affordability' like it's some sort of innate quality, like the building needs to be made out of affordium. Housing. is. affordable. when. housing. is. abundant. Supply and demand are real.

Mark was unequivocal in defending the Palestine marchers’ right to protest and argue against Labour’s proposals after the Manchester attack. Meanwhile someone in that video has the gall to propose he was “asking for it” as he is taken away by police.

It is worrying that there is no sense that this kind of disagreement is part of what you sign up for when you publicly display your opinions in a protest. Instead it is actively discouraged and even criminalised as “disturbing the peace”.
Mark Birbeck and others from @OurFightUK are pushed and abused by hate marchers, then arrested by @MetPoliceUK. Why? They displayed signs saying “We stand with Britain’s Jews”. CAA provided solicitors to represent Mark and others who were arrested. We are proud to have the back

More people responding with "aw that's cute and normal" instead of eye rolls to babies crying in public would go a long way towards fixing iPad babies and probably also the fertility crisis.
I keep seeing very small children in public with headphones and iPads, I think this is child abuse, sorry

The CofE is fond of the concept of the “hub”, a place where people come together to be surrounded by wall art. It likes to transform churches, which clearly lack the aforementioned function, into these hubs. Cf. St Mary’s in Lichfield, a site of Christian worship since 1150:

Re English degrees - as a student Katherine Rundell read Donne's most difficult poem. It gave her an idea for a children's book. Yesterday Disney announced a monster deal for that book. So that English degree will soon create and sustain thousands of highly skilled UK jobs.
