Good thing we built so much infrastructure in the 2010s when borrowing was cheap!.
I think it's under-appreciated in UK politics that now is just isn't a good time for government to be borrowing more - or signaling that it intends to borrow more. We're in the middle of what has been described as a "global bond glut". Borrowing is expensive. It's not the 2010s.

The only actual argument in the qtād post is āit looks badā. Whether its size prevents the Lords from doing its job is apparently neither here nor there. For constitutional reformers, aesthetics always prevail over empirics.
I just donāt see why it would be such a bad thing to have a House of 1,500 peers. The engaged ones will turn up to speak/vote, others wonāt, youāve a larger pool of talent and expertise, & a lot of work can be done through committees. Keep the hereditaries, donāt cap numbers šš¬š§.

I hate the heat+humidity. 32Ā° š¤¢. But I was fine with it in Mexico. Why?. Theory: in Mexico and other hot countries AC is everywhere. So your core temperature stays lower, which makes the heat outside much more bearable. The governmentās ban on AC is mad, bad and dangerous.
