A friend in Amsterdam has a new "sidewalk garden" in front of her house. She requested it online on the city hall website. Two guys came in four days, removed some tiles, added a curbstone, and added some soil. It was all done in 20-30 minutes. And all that for free. They

I tried very hard to obtain a dataset of all these sidewalk gardens in Amsterdam from @AmsterdamNL, but I have yet to succeed. It would make an epic heatmap of the best neighborhoods in Amsterdam, where walking is enjoyable and where neighbours deeply care about public space.
