imagine if these parties would all just agree to "let it slide" for transactions lower than X... similar to how some Amazon sellers just let you keep the item + the money if you need to return it because returning it is more expensive than any future profit they'd make on it...

Most teams choose Rust for performance they donāt need, then waste months reinventing tools that already exist. Hereās when to use it (and when not to).
Ubuntuās plan to replace the GNU Core Utils with Rust-based reimplementations is going exactly as poorly as predicted. Some Rust versions being 17 times slower than the battle tested GNU C / C++ version. And other Rust-based versions simply failing to work on large files.
