Today I made the difficult decision to turn down a TT job offer w/o another offer in hand during the worst job markets in years. I'm *very* lucky to have received the offer but in the end, decided I wouldn't be happy (for several reasons that I won't go into here).

During this process, I realized that just because you're "supposed to" take a job doesn't mean that you should. I'm sharing to normalize prioritizing personal happiness in academia- a decision I'm proud to have made for myself (along with the support of some amazing mentors)

This article in @Chicago_Reader about @MOHAVVKJOHNSON shows the injustice of pretrial EM but also beautifully describes who he is, outside of this onerous form of surveillance. I'm grateful to learn more about Mohawk, and especially to hear his music.

Huge! This will have a positive domino effect preventing a lot of arrests/charges/convictions. One small step towards ending criminalization of poverty.

Cherishing today as a moment where I feel happy about being a grad student!! Great morning spent with @MeghanDDaniel getting work done outdoors over scones. (Mostly tweeting this so I can look back in approx. 2 months when I inevitably start questioning all my life choices again)

If you submitted an NSF proposal and you didn’t cry in the process, was it ever really an NSF proposal?

NEW! Claire Decoteau & @MeghanDDaniel : Genetic explanations retain dominance in the autism field, despite continuing challenge from advocates of environmental perspectives, because dominant actors are able to co-opt and subsume them under a genetic frame
