I had this theory for a bit that a lot of diseases we vaccinate against in children were only dangerous because of lack of access to modern living and medicine, partly because of stuff like this. Then I "did my own research" instead of listening to the people telling me to do.

LLMs don't reflect truth, they reflect their training data. It's been very likely for awhile now that Elon purchased Twitter so it could be a wealth of LLM training data and he could win the LLM war. Slight problem with the quality of training data on X lately though.

If your retort to this is "humans lie too", then you need to consider that we understand why humans lie, the conditions and conflicts that tend to lead to that, and we can also impose consequences for it. None of that is the case with LLMs.
AI models lie non-stop (also known as "hallucinations"). Until that's resolved (if it even can be), we cannot trust it in anything of importance.
