I’d suggest you replace the word “burden” with “responsibility” “duty” or “imperative”.
It should be an honor to serve people with our design work and never a “burden”—irrespective of what special needs people have that might need extra thought.

When you see something w/ “bad” design don’t ask “why do they hire such “bad” designers?”
Instead ask, “what values & political structures exist that lead to that outcome?” Or “what does that design do that I can’t see?”
Those are much better questions.

As you become more of an influential leader and less of an individual contributor, your definitions of time & success need to evolve.
“Fast” goes from a few days to a few week or quarters & results aren’t always tangible “things” you can’t point at.
Be patient.

I’m starting to think this wave of tech layoffs is to devalue tech workers in the form of accepting lower salaries and outsourcing for cheaper labor.
Salaries and benefits will go down, and it seems coordinated. Cause layoffs aren’t necessary—only “convenient.”
