Tiny harvests today from my urban allotment in Inchicore. I always feel lucky to have an allotment and it's probably the only reason I can still live in a city 💚 @DCCParksBiodiv

Shocking to see so many cigarette butts around @Luas stops. Inevitably they blow into the canal and into the sea. @Transdevir

Hi @Luas , @TransdevIreland can you clean the cigarette butts near your Luas stops? Especially at suir road and all the stops near the canal. One butt can poison gallons of water https://t.co/TeMgIiM8y8.

Israel knows it can commit war crimes with impunity. That is why it has launched its largest assault on the West Bank since 2002. We are witnessing the total erasure of Palestine - and our government is shamefully complicit. End all arms sales to Israel, now.

We were shocked - All the cattle in the fields by the badgers were tb free only housed dairy had bTb. The only bodily fluid that was leaking btb was the slurry. Btb was living in it and being spread around the country . It’s stays live for at least 6mths plus…. Yes six months …

Shocking and yet not shocked either. The amount of racist language people feel it's ok to stick into random conversations. Says a lot about Ireland today when people feel they would be better off in Palestine

Sick of abuse, assault and homelessness in Dublin, a Palestinian man who’d sought asylum here wants to go home. But when he went to the International Organisation for Migration, they said they wouldn’t help him get there because his home is too dangerous.

Really important campaign to hand over the Gearagh to the @NPWSIreland . Currently it's owned by ESB. I read the book Saving Eden by Kevin Corcoran in 2022, it's an unforgettable read and an incredibly important book. The Gearagh should be an National Park

It was great to be with @Harriet_Burgess on the radio this morning to talk about the unique forest at the Gearagh in Cork and the enormous opportunity that exists to double its size. Action needed from @ESBNetworks & @NPWSIreland ... https://t.co/D85xdMJqLC

This is one of Ireland's most beautiful Nature Reserves: Derryclare in Co. Galway. Like all our Atlantic rainforests, words, or even images, cannot do it justice. Also, like all our native forests it's under pressure, but here there is at least some good news...

Completely agree. Can't believe this stupid legislation is still in place. Detrimental to our dwindling biodiversity. Ragwort and thistle are incredibly important plants.

About time the legislation dating from 1936 was revised. Noxious weeds apparently include⬇️ RAGWORT, DOCKS THISTLES AND WILD OATS.suely with the superior knowledge we have and biodiversity crisis we are in, we can do better

Today is Earth's Overshoot Day. The day that marks the date when humanity's demand for ecological resources and services in a given year exceeds what Earth can regenerate in that year. If we all lived and consumed like we do in Ireland, we would need over THREE planets.

Climate activists are sometimes depicted as dangerous radicals. But the truly dangerous radicals are the countries that are increasing the production of fossil fuels. Investing in new fossil fuels infrastructure is moral and economic madness.

We were thrilled to welcome @pippa_hackett to open our Pocket Forests Native Tree Nursery in @IrishPrisons Shelton Abbey yesterday. More than 2000 native trees grown from Irish seed by @coilltenews are thriving here. Next winter we will plant them in Pocket Forests.
