Cardinal McElroy of Washington, D.C.: "Zeal for war ... is utterly incompatible with Catholic faith ... At this present moment, the U.S. decision to go to war against Iran fails to meet the just war threshold for a morally legitimate war."

We keep hearing new reasons for war with Iran—none convincing. “Free the oppressed” sounds noble, but where does it end? We’ve been told for decades Iran is weeks from a nuke. War should be a last resort, not our first move. A war of choice is not my choice. Liberty must come

From @commonwealmag: “The self-proclaimed ‘peace president’ has now launched seven military attacks on foreign nations since he returned to office.” Count me in w/ the leftcaths, libertarians like @RandPaul & @RepThomasMassie, & all the heartland weary who don’t support this war.

Ro Khanna says the attack on Iran is a "betrayal of the MAGA base": "Trump said Iraq was a disaster. He said Libya was a disaster. He ran because a big part of the MAGA base did not want another war. Yet here we have Lindsey Graham being the face of Republican foreign policy."

Faced with the possibility of a tragedy of immense proportions, I make a heartfelt appeal to all the parties involved to assume the moral responsibility of halting the spiral of violence before it becomes an unbridgeable chasm. May diplomacy regain its proper role, and may the

As yet another preemptive war is begun in the Middle East, John Quincy Adam’s words of wisdom still ring true: “Wherever the standard of freedom and Independence has been or shall be unfurled, there will her heart, her benedictions and her prayers be.” Like most Americans I

I am opposed to this War. This is not “America First.” When Congress reconvenes, I will work with @RepRoKhanna to force a Congressional vote on war with Iran. The Constitution requires a vote, and your Representative needs to be on record as opposing or supporting this war.

I am obviously a huge proponent of having children but one thing that really bothers me about conservative messaging on this is there are so many women who want to become mothers and can’t or - just haven’t found the right person. Also some women don’t want children and it’s ok.

By contemplating the person of Christ, let us learn to love and act as He shows us, so that we may better serve our brothers and sisters and help them see in us a reflection of the face of God. #GeneralAudience

Something about the halftime show felt very Catholic to me. The sensuality, the embrace of life at all stages, the assertion of happiness and exhilaration in the face of annihilation. It had Resurrection energy.
