I'm thrilled to be running the London Marathon next month in aid of @Coram. Having been lucky enough to volunteer for their Child Law Advice Service, I have seen first-hand the incredible impact of their work. Please do donate! https://t.co/oRfdKp8PFj

When social mobility rates are this low, we all lose. Social mobility improves the lives of everyone. When individuals rise, they bring with them their lived experiences, ideas & skills. Weβre missing out on so much talent. https://t.co/UddedFuRFQ

In many fields of law (& life), we will come across individuals who spent time in care. Learning our lived experiences, such as reading books by #CEP or documentaries (like the Joe Swash one coming up), can only be a strength in empathising and understanding those we work for.

Volunteering for the Child Law Advice Service the past 10 months has been so rewarding. Services like this are so important and it is great to see the impact of advice in helping so many vulnerable individuals better understand the legal system and gain access to justice.

Private provision of children's homes too often cuts corners to boost profits, breaking relationships between children in care and their community. A @CMAgovUK study found profit margins of over 22% in children's social care, and yet provision quality is patchy at best.

No surprise here. Our government is actively supporting class inequality and blocking social mobility with this cruel grading system. Thoughts are with any year 13 students struggling today - here to talk
Private schools have today seen a far higher rise in A/A* results than state schools. The Tories' grading system is locking-in class inequality. The Government urgently needs to reverse this unfairness and ensure students get graded on potential, not postcode.

Iβm at a school in East London today where 47% of students have had results downgraded from teachers predictions. Some predicted Cs have been given a U. Some A* predictions reduced to a B.
