It’s hard for me to ask for support.
But today:
If you’ve been to Burning Man, you know how special the temple is. ~250 volunteers build her so we can be more human, feel deeper, process grief. RT & consider backing and sharing the Temple of the Heart's Kickstarter. 🙏❤️👇
1/n Last year at
@burningman
, I felt a deep calling to create the Temple. One that is protective and motherly, a loving hug for those experiencing grief. I can now share the Temple of the Heart co-created by me & Reed Finlay was selected and we're bringing her to Black Rock City!

& I emptied our bank accounts, moved to SF, lived in a house w/12 ppl for >2 years because we could only afford a room. Co-working spaces were too expensive so we'd meet w/founders (some of whom now backed us!) in cafes. Joy!
I'm Polish by birth/blood & American by marriage/love. My grandma came from today's Western Ukraine. My hometown Kraków is 2.5hrs from the Ukrainian border.
I'm so proud of my brother and sister Ukrainians for fighting the world's fight for all of us. 🇺🇦 💛💙
The article didn't mention my pregnancy once (only showing it without comment in a photo). I was treated like a business leader and not an expecting mother. They focused on my work at

Was recently featured on the cover of
@ForbesPolska
. When asked for a photo shoot, I said "sure but FYI I'm 8 months pregnant so any pictures will show this." The reporter asked exactly zero questions about my pregnancy or upcoming motherhood, focusing instead on my business. 1/2
Many startup founders are anxious right now, not just about the safety of their loved ones but also about the future of their businesses. It’s going to be a bumpy ride in the coming months both with
#COVID19
and with the economic fallout. [Thread] 1/n
Just got
@USPS
deliveries.
I thanked our postman for his much-needed service.
He looked at me and with a fear in his eyes he said:
"I'm scared".
He's elderly & needs to continue working. They have masks but he said he's worried it's still dangerous.
Our hidden heros.
Join me & other impact-driven developers, entrepreneurs, researchers, investors, & economists to explore how to fork capitalism to serve humanity better.

After 32 days in the desert building the Temple, it's good to be back.

Founders coming from academia: don’t forget to install Startup OS.
Academia is great but spinning out requires a pretty massive behavior shift! Academia is an operating system. Startups are also an OS.
They are not the same OS.
After a recent progress call w/
@MemphisMeats
, I said something composed like: "We're so proud!"
Then I closed my laptop and starting crying out loud.
Words can't describe how impressed I am w/

If you want to build a ship, don't drum up people to collect wood and don't assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea.

is hosting a great event on "Technologies for Humanity" with ~45 amazing humans in governance, coordination, ethics, ReFi, DeSci. Magical venue, sessions (incl. in a copper tub!), connection & 3-course vegan dinner included.
The Temple of the Heart crew arrived home today.
We started by offering flowers to the empty canvas of the desert.
We'll be here for the next month, collectively dreaming a beautiful dream.
Time is warping. I'm not talking about LLMs.
Temple Kickstarter crossed $107,000 in ~2.5 days.
As the world accelerates, we need spaces to be human - with our slow processing speed, bad hardware, buggy memory, & conflicting records.
And celebrate that we get to feel it all.
I was walking across playa when I saw the Kinship drone show from a distance. I saw it from this very angle. And then I was no longer walking, I was sprinting towards the temple as fast as I could, tears pouring down my face. This image is the closest to being able to explain…
We need a pandemic-proof food system that can meet the nutritional needs of our growing human family.

Hanging out with lil' Aiko just makes everything more enjoyable (while not always "easy" or "quiet"). Glad to have a job where I can co-work now with two of my favorite humans!

we - with team's approval - added a requirement of min. 30 mins of cardio exercise to everyone's daily task list.
Social isolation is hard.
Reading the news doesn't help.
Cortisol builds up over time.
Cardio exercise gets it out.

Prediction: Making these vegan eggs was the closest I'll ever get to actually being a hen.
Notes:
1. Molecular cuisine takes time!
2. Used sodium alginate and calcium chloride in v1. Will use vegan calcium lactate in v2.
3. Egg white flavor needs work.
I live between SF & Poland. My SF friends are more optimistic, individualistic, agentic. Krakow life is more communal & rooted in tradition. Folks are serious about recycling & consumerism is not as rampant. People commonly repair shoes/clothes/electronics.
I'm grateful for both

Disagree.
Taxes are the way we take care of each other in a society. We absolutely should have "uneven" treatment of the sick, elderly, disabled -- and many more classes of people who were not dealt a good hand in life. Social cohesion is a public good.
6. The core instinct is: we need a formal system of rights and limits that treats everyone equally and doesn't make unprincipled exceptions. You can't enslave or steal, so the government should not be able to enslave (conscription) or steal (taxation) either.
Deep tech founders: your scientific advisors are usually bad at giving you feedback on fundraising materials. They often offer "improvements" that turn decks into science presentations.
Fundraising is a sales process. Your deck is sales collateral. Only take fundraising advice…

Family friend is dealing with glioblastoma (GBM, brain tumor).
His bio PhD daughter is looking to get connected to experts on GBT and anyone working on experimental treatments/clinical trials in the UK/USA.
Who can help?
Anyone building a Bio Hacker DAO? Seems like a great idea for a large quantified self community that could run experiments and monetize the generated data.
There are no flawless plans. Failure is always possible.
90% of internet commentary is nay-sayers. Pointing to how something can fail is the *easiest* thing to do. And it's boring.
Imagining inspiring futures and turning them into reality? Now that's hard. And awesome!
