And so ends 528 years of Parliamentary recordkeeping at Westminster. No further words.
Today we say a fond farewell to the Victoria Tower. As our collections move to @UkNatArchives, it’s exciting to know they’ll reach a wider audience. Thanks for following us and look out for our new social channels focusing on the collections across the Palace. Updates soon!

Jeff Bezos appears to be wearing the wrong waistcoat for his wedding. This is a dinner suit (aka tuxedo) and thus requires a formal waistcoat, which is cut lower on the body. He's wearing a business vest, which is designed for business suits. Needs a waistcoat like the right.

#OnThisDay 1836 Hansard gave an insight into some of the people who kept the 19thC House of Commons running, with a debate on the salaries of the door-keepers, waiting-room attendant and deputy house-keeper. For more on the 19thC Commons staff, see

Please stop asking us to work for free. Yesterday, I had an email from an organisation that wanted a talk as a freebie. They were located 65 miles from my home & were not offering travel expenses. They were charging £18 admission. That's taking the p*ss. Don't do that. Ever.

Try leading a beleaguered nation at war for three years with 100,000s casualties and a quarter of the nation ruined and keeping your cool in front of that aggressive, bullying and totally ignorant s**t show. I’m with Zelenskyy all the way on this.
@James1940 I think it was a poor performance by both sides. Trump and JD were very bullying indeed, but Zelensky was quite antagonistic himself. And he should have worn a suit. Doesn’t the man own one ?! You’re a guest in a foreign seat of power - dress respectfully !

1/ Vladimir Putin is demanding that Ukraine should hold a presidential election in wartime. Nazi Germany demanded the same of Britain in July 1942. This is the story of why the UK delayed holding elections throughout World War II. ⬇️

Zelensky was elected with a majority of Ukrainian votes. His presidency was extended per the Constitution during the war. It’s odd to hear him called a dictator by someone who led a failed coup and is now expanding the executive branch in violation of American norms and processes
