7) At this time, for someone with IBD who has not been immunized against measles with an MMR vaccine , I would recommend holding immunosuppressive therapy and consulting with both their gastroenterologist and infectious disease specialist.

6) While small studies have shown live vaccines may be safe in IBD patients, we need more studies evaluating their safety. For now, caution is warranted.

5) I'm not recommending using serologic titers to evaluate for vaccine immunity in those with previous known immunization history.

4) Our research shows that patients with IBD on immunosuppressives maintain comparable MMR antibody levels to healthy controls, supporting ACIP guidance to use immunization records rather than serologic testing to determine immunity.

3) What does this mean for patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)?.Important: Live vaccines (like MMR) are not generally recommended for patients with IBD, particularly those on immune modifying therapy.
