Investigation good; but there needs to be a moratorium now on these debt collection processes. Why are local councils .@LGAcomms organisations responsible for #publichealth including #mentalhealth and #wellbeing allowed to do something that is so wrong?.
V important @MartinSLewis Councils in England responsibe for public health; unmanageable debt major risk factor 4 poor #mentalhealth & ppl w mentalhealth conditions high risk of debt. Councils use rapid punitive measures & bailiffs; totally unacceptable needs to be stopped now.

Brilliant news. I'm quite emotional. Govt has agreed to investigate Council Tax rapid debt collection escalation that is catastrophic for millions. Miss one MONTH'S payment and within six weeks you can have baliffs forcing you to pay for the YEAR plus £100s admin charges.

Great to take part in @FPH @rcpsych event on #publicmentalhealth Important to work across boundaries/disciplines to implement effectively. Also heard much more use can be made of routine health and other data to make case e.g. help ensure experience and voices of all are heard.
