Chart of the Day 🤓 Today's flash UK PMI for November signalled a renewed acceleration in job losses in the private sector, largely due to rising labour costs and additional pre-Budget uncertainty...🙄 https://t.co/3DkOCDQtBn

DragonFire is a laser directed energy weapon designed and built entirely in the UK. It can hit a target the size of a £1 coin from a kilometre away, costs only £10 a shot, and just successfully took down a high-speed drone during testing. Read more ➡️ https://t.co/Am3bp03VYq

Another grim manufacturing survey from @CBI_Economics... 🙄 The main headwinds are "uncertainty ahead of the Budget" (which could at least ease soon), "punitive energy costs" (set to stay high) and the costs of employing people (likely to rise further). https://t.co/MZD0F1DPty

Thanks to campaigns by the Conservative & Reformer Post, and careful analysis by Robert Jenrick and Karl Williams, we are beginning to appreciate the catastrophic costs of low-quality mass migration....

Some interesting polling... 👇 My takes 1️⃣ people are much less willing to back higher public spending if they know they will have to pay for it, and 2️⃣ the threat of broad-based tax increases is at least making this trade-off clearer

My latest for @ConHome: @OpiniumResearch polling shows Rachel Reeves’ planned tax rises have flipped public opinion: just 19% now back higher tax & spend, while 26% want tax & spend cut. The space for a lower-tax Conservatism appears to be back. 🔗Below

The EU re set is hostile to growth. The UK will be charged to trade and to bid for contracts, against WTO rules. The EU will sell us more food and make us put tariffs on non EU imports. Their carbon scheme will accelerate closures of our industry.

The breakdown of the latest CPI suggests UK inflation is still sticky. The fall in the annual headline inflation rate, from 3.8% to 3.6%, can be entirely accounted for by the favourable base effects in domestic energy. Bills still rose, but by less than in the same month last

When is the government going to cancel the money it sends to France given their lack of action to stop the dangerous boats? When will the UK ask the migrants arriving who drove the boat, who took their money, how they found the boat so these people are prosecuted?

In May this year, the Prime Minister announced that the UK’s relationship with the EU would be ‘Reset’ and that this Reset would benefit the UK economy by ‘nearly £9 billion’ by 2040, which he also claimed would be a ‘huge boost to growth’. That is only £600 million a year. But

Government regulations are driving landlords out of providing homes, stopping small businesses offering new jobs, getting farmers to grow less food, banning new oil and gas and undermining petrol car making. It is bad for jobs. It forces up costs for consumers and tenants.
