While I look at this photograph (Anadolu/Getty Images), taken the day before yesterday, of displaced Palestinian children cooling off due to the stifling heat in the tents they live in in Gaza City, I'm reminded of something a Palestinian-Lebanese friend told me recently: 1/3

Killing children. Starvation as a weapon of war. Targeting aid workers. These are all RED LINES. Many more have been crossed by Israel. As the UK gvmt breaks for summer, we demand it takes action to end its complicity in these atrocities in #Gaza

In light of attacks against CRT both here in the UK and US, this was a really engaging read!

Critical race theory (CRT) is based on the premises of pervasive racial inequality and a social constructionist (i.e. anti-essentialist) conception of race. It challenges the idea that the superfic...

Unfortunately, this infant isn't old enough to understand, as enlightened Western adults do, that "Israel has the right to defend itself."
🚨BREAKING: Medical teams rescued an infant from beneath the rubble after the Israeli army bombed his family’s home in the industrial area of Gaza City.

I received some feedback on my plain English writing, felt like a put down but I received it as a badge of honour. I hope to never lose it!!
One of my most important lessons from Malcolm X is to 'make it plain'. I'm a 'recovering academic' because it takes years to undo the damage that training in the university does to us. #NobodyCanGiveYouFreedom

I completely missed that Inua Ellams wrote an episode for Doctor Who. I just watched the episode and my goodness, my fave episode ever! It’s so beautiful, so nuanced, so true! Anyone read a more articulate review, please send my way! Read his process here.

I suspect that a real fear of landing in the dock at the @IntlCrimCourt within their actual lifetimes is the only thing inspiring these kinds of statements, years into the genocide.

The UK govt is absolutely complicit in the genocide of Palestinians, it has financed and provided weapons to kill civilians. Note that suspending 'trade talks' is meaningless, because our taxes ARE still actively funding this genocide.

It’s hard to overstate how extraordinary this is. Aid organization trucks are all lined up and ready to enter and Israel has not allowed them into Gaza for ~75 days. There is no way to describe this as anything other than the active, intentional, planned starvation of a people.
Enough. We demand rapid, safe, and unimpeded access to starving civilians in Gaza. We have a plan. We have thousands of trucks of food at the border. Let us in. Let us work. https://t.co/J55f8shIEU

it’s interesting that immigration challenges suddenly matter to these organizations now that it’s Canadians and Europeans having issues with travel. No one was accommodating African scholars who are regularly denied visas to attend academic conferences
Multiple North American-based organizations have chosen to relocate their upcoming conferences — either partially or fully— after members express safety concerns about travel to the U.S. https://t.co/Olop080fz2
