The leadership group have worked hard, in their own time, to get our first bi-monthly network meeting together. The network wants the workplace to be a positive and inclusive experience for our NHS deaf and hard of hearing colleagues. See you there!

My new spanking new Cochlear N8 arrived. Two colours aren’t normal. Long story short I wrongly chose sand instead of brown. I could only get the coil and cover changed to brown. Not a bad unplanned way to blend in with my hair, though I aren’t conscious of people noticing my CI.

As a judge I must say the @NHSMidlands MIDAS awards ‘24 rightly celebrated the high achievements and inspirations of networks, activists, hero’s, ICS’s and much more, to highlight the critical link between inclusive workforces and our urgent need to retain our workforce talent.

Incredible to see approximately 278 people join this Zoom event today. So many contributions, and ideas crammed into a 1.5-hour accessible event. Glad this will be rolled out 3X a year? #Connection #SharedExperiences #Deaf #HardOfHearing #BSLUsers #Voices
Let’s remember the NHS, as a whole, is probably the largest employer of deaf and hard of hearing people in the world. That’s why we need you to join the launch of our new network!

So important for deaf children and young people. They are already twice as likely to experience mental health issues compared to hearing people. Please sign up and share @JWatsonONeill @deaftogether_ @BevMatthewsRN
Some children and young people are not able to access the community mental health support they need quickly enough. We need your help to change that. Have your say and help us improve these vital services ➡️ https://t.co/8VjF85i6PF Join #SolvingTogether

Unbelievable! What was the cause? Any deep root analysis for the reason for five whole months? In my case my work pays then request’s reimbursement but that isn’t a speedy process either.
My interpreters (5 terps) finally got paid 6 months worth of invoices after 5 months battling with ATW. This is not on. It’s scares that my terps could turn around and refuse to work with me because they are not getting paid on time. #ATW #BSLInterpreters 1/3
