@swyx As a QA, I worked with many great PMs. What made them great was communication skills. We had the best project results when they communicated often, clearly and early.

@ministryoftest I like to use the Pareto principle for that. In 80% of cases you'll find 80% of bugs within 20% of the allocated time. If that gives you enough information to make good decisions while tolerating the risk, it's enough testing. Any more testing may be considered 'too much'.
