The UK is a great country with an extraordinary history. Our stagnation is real, but it's fixable and worth fixing. Enjoyed giving this talk at @lfg_uk last week and so encouraged by the optimistic responses I've had from people who are building a brilliant future for Britain š

Nice to see John. Given all the holes in my clothes, and your scuffed brown shoes, there is plenty to offset the occassional brag.

Another precise and useful perspective from @CER_Grant
I just spent a week in Beijing, for the first time in many years. A few thoughts. The war in Ukraine is creating huge strains in China's relations with the US and the EU. This is because the war has pushed China into closer alignment with Russia, Iran and DPRK. /1 @CER_EU

Good. Unionize the mine and share the profits with the community. Endlessly test the drinking water & pull forward filtering technologies to use less water. Apply price insurance to protect the economics. And then copy and paste.

Great thread from @Adam_Grant_Bell which makes clear that government proposes not just to add new gas capacity, but to preference gas production in the CM at the expense of new tech. This looks both highly distortive and the inverse of what a clean grid requires..
I will look forward to more details, but as it stands this seems like a rather bad and distortive way of delivering this objective. Rather than higher cost gas being pushed out of merit, LDES will be instead. /17
