Can these politicians focus on actual problems instead of trampling over our rights please
Florida has an awful bill called SB 1722: Application Stores. Guess what.... It forces online ID age checks on the app store. WTF man. The government is doing whatever it can to step on our rights. FIGHT BACK! https://t.co/LiXQGuhwnU

While it is a hearing, its still worth calling your reps over your opposition to this!! VOICE MAILS ALSO COUNT!!! You can theoretically call them at 1AM and itll send. Just be polite and follow the instructions in the source i sent below
https://t.co/liqaNIocUB hey y'all we have another issue that we should be aware of. Ted cruz. They no doubt will try to use the info they have and try to push more BS censorship and try to push the awful bills like KOSA, screen, app store accountability and ect forward

Reminder the KOSMA hearing is happening today. They’ll likely use gov ID checks to verify everyone’s ages call/email your state members to oppose this

Just a reminder that we all have a lot more power than we are made to believe.
At least 25 data centers were canceled last year as communities organized and pushed back against them. That's four times as many as 2024, according to @heatmap_news.

It’s not a “doomer narrative”. It’s just reality. GenAi harms via stolen work, impacts to livelihoods & environment, psychosis, deepfakes, CSAM, decrease in brain functions, increased utilities and hardware prices etc make it so people are no longer falling for the snake oil 🤷🏻♀️
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang says the AI "doomer narrative" Is "extremely hurtful" to the industry FULL STORY IN THE REPLIES

If Warren actually cared about tech companies collecting data she wouldn’t be pushing dangerous mass surveillance laws like KOSA which mandate tech companies collect FAR MORE data on everyone
erininthemorning.com
Evan Greer writes for EITM: "KOSA’s re-emergence comes during a moment of existential crisis for the Democratic party."
Google is using troves of your data to help retailers trick you into spending more money. That’s just plain wrong.

KOSMA. A bill that sounds harmless can lead to very dangerous results. It should be talked more about and discussed. It needs to be stopped. This can push companies into doing online ID age checks or biometrics, to much sure if their age is correct. 13-17. 1/2

betting my money that they’re going to do this crap with ID verification methods. I’m so unbelievably sick of this.

Be aware what “Banning social media for kids” likely means in reality: Digital ID for EVERYONE to access the internet
“There is a reason 86 per cent of parents want this ban. They’re not asking the state to replace them, they’re asking for intervention to break the network effects of social media.”

Much like a public space. You need to watch what your kids are doing and who they are talking too. NIghtclubs and social media are not comparable. social media are parks, stores, libraries and etc. YOU need watch what your kid is doing and putting parental controls on their stuff
We don’t ask nightclubs to serve orange squash to kids so they can have something to drink. We say no kids in nightclubs. Social media is exactly the same. Social media is not a safe for children. Extreme content is rife, and the safeguards the companies have put in place are

sarcasm aside, this is EXACTLY why privacy and free speech is important, and why the mere idea of ANY govs tracking everything you do or say should absolutely mortify you. This poor kid feels *less* safe now. These laws are not doing what they claim to do.

AI: - took jobs - took resources (water & elec) - made people dumber - made people addicted (chatbots) - made people kms - is used to spread disinfo - unlocthed women and children - caused massive debt for its investors - raised RAM prices This list is off the top of my head
NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang says you shouldn’t talk badly about AI, adding that those fueling the ‘doomer narrative’ are deeply conflicted people. He also took a dig at Anthropic’s Amodei over his stance on AI advancements. Via: wccftech

Hey @Ofcom, when you guys fine websites for not following your invasive ID age verification laws in the UK, what do you do with the millions of dollars you get? Do you donate it to children in need? Just wondering since you guys claim you do this "for the kids"
