Section 21 eviction ABOLISHED 1 May 2026. This is a huge victory for organised tenants. But the government has left us unprotected over the Winter. We must get organised and defend each other from homelessness. Once S21 is history, we can push forward for rent controls.

Why does it feel like powerful institutions such as land ownership and property were up for debate in the late 19th and early 20th centuries in ways that aren't allowed today

This really just shows, once again, the paucity of the techno-urbanist imagination, which can only conceive of the status quo with more devices and is fully unable to offer an actual alternative urban social order

It’s logical that tech bros & libertarians are into bullshit like this but it’s absurd for Labour to talk this way. If they’re going to propose urban utopias, they should be exploring cooperative towns based around social and collectively-owned housing and worker-owned businesses
EXCL: Britain's first AI-powered super-tech town could begin construction before the next election, the Housing Secretary tells The Sun. Steve Reed wants to oversee new communities where the likes of roads, shops and care homes run seamlessly on automation and robotics.

🙌 HUGE WIN! 💪 The Renters' Rights Bill abolishing section 21 is now LAW. This is a massive victory for renters. It gives us more power to fight for wider transformations like rent controls. The government must introduce the new laws IMMEDIATELY to stop last-minute evictions.

My MP is right ⤵️
Government plans for more home building are deeply flawed because they are wholly dependent on private builders. When expected profits decline, they stop building. It always happens. We need council house building. https://t.co/4AjSJ9A4Vh

Not sure people not subject to this in their cities truly comprehend how much ICE is terrorizing Chicago. They are everywhere, kidnapping whomever they want, arresting journalists, targeting construction and domestic laborers, deliberately sowing fear in almost every neighborhood
