On call on my birthday. The trainees presented a new consult with a classic case of a somewhat rare condition that the team hadn't heard of, and I got to pull a classic attending move and reveal how the pieces fit together (and help the patient!). What a present!.

ACG today reacted with a Letter to the Editor of @CNN on misleading story re: NEJM NordICC #Colonoscopy trial. CNN's coverage does a significant potential disservice to public health and fails to convey limitations of the analysis of the NordICC trial. >>

Agree 100% with Dr.Fola May @drfolamay A myriad of issues with this study, including not emphasizing the intention to treat modeling which shows much better reduction in incidence and mortality.
Better title for this study might have been: “Colonoscopies prevent cancers and deaths only if people do them” . Must recognize that study was more about “invitation for colonoscopy” than “effectiveness”.
