Two amazing papers on field of pHTN and MPNs written by none other than @LeivaOrly. I hope that pHTN be considered as a real risk factor and disease entity with clinical implications. Not just looking at LVEF during care of our cancer patients. @KuykendallMd @Ramikomrokji.

Cardiovascular care in patients with cancer is critical. Truly appreciate @AHAScience and #FDOH Florida Cancer Innovation Fund by @CaseyDeSantis for the opportunity to work on improving CV care in patients with cancer. More work to do! Thank you! (10/10 End).

CVAEs after CAR-T for MM are 1) relatively common, mostly arrhythmias 2) due to inflammation post CAR-T and 3) not driver of inferior survival early after CAR-T. Yet, diligent CRS management and cardiovascular monitoring and management crucial for our CAR-T patients. (8/10).

So. We believe that the acute systemic illness post CAR-T (infection, CRS) are the driver of inferior survival, rather than the CVAE being the root cause. In other words, CVAE is a byproduct of these systemic illnesses, rather than a driver of inferior survival. (7/10).

We stratified into myeloma-related death (cancer progression) vs. non-myeloma-related deaths (mostly infection, CRS). It was the non-MRDs that contributed to "early deaths", as expected. Importantly, CVAE did NOT affect incidence of death in non-MRD (Gray's test P=0.29) (6/10)

In univariate KM curve, CVAE "seems to have inferior survival". However, in MV analysis, presence of CVAE was not associated with inferior overall survival, after adjustment with covariates. There was a steep, early death (<1 month) in the CVAE group. Why? (5/10)
