This photo isn't making the point you think it's making. The police and city response to a small, peaceful and silent protest with small paper signs is heavy handed, disproportionate, unjustified, and the policy itself prohibiting these signs unconstitutional.

I've been reflecting a lot on how fortunate I am to live in Canada and have a safe place to return to. I'm thinking a lot about my friends who are currently in Israel, as well as all civilians caught in the conflict.

On Saturday morning, I returned home from the Middle East. I was scheduled to fly to Tel Aviv the morning of the 13th. The Israel-Iran war broke out 2 hours before I arrived at the airport for my flight. I wrote about it here:.

I arrived safely home this morning from the middle east, where I had planned travel for the next 10 days. Relieved to be home and thinking how fortunate I am to live in Canada. Thinking of all the innocent people caught in the conflict and wishing them strength and security.
