Nothing like a new "Walk" to close out the year. Where's this house, where's that street, which letter box is high, or sharp? Who has a wobbly step or a hard to open gate? Become a Councillor they said, it'll be fun, they said. Must like long walks (not in the Countryside)

I should really have taken earlier advantage of the Metro network being severed in two to plug my exploration of why the tunnels are different shapes on either side of the Tyne...

Huge congratulations to the #team from @bamukandireland and @MammoetUK on getting the temporary works in under the Gateshead Flyover. Hopefully this will allow @My_Metro to restart services in the New Year.

Bloody schrodinger's cyclist, simultaneously stopping and not stopping at the traffic lights, until observed. Should I stay or should I go now? If I stay there will be trouble, if I go it will be double.

However, if you're the resident of Mariners Wharf that I spoke to while campaigning for the local elections in May 2024, I'm pleased to see that you have new #recycling bins at long last! π€£ @ouseburnlibdems working hard for you all year round!

Did I mention that patience was an essential criteria for becoming a Councillor? Apologies if we don't always get back to you as quickly as you'd like, but sometimes, despite loads of chasing, things don't happen as quickly as we'd like. Cont.

@ouseburnlibdems @GarethKaneLD I understand residents will also be receiving a recycling bag, and a letter explaining what can and can't be recycled. And, hopefully, as soon as the decarbonisation works are complete at Pandon Court, Lort House and King Charles Tower, we can roll out the same solution there.

It took quite a bit longer than expected, but the new #recycling bin stores have recently been installed at Shieldfield House. Residents now have access to better recycling facilities and hopefully it'll reduce wind blown rubbish and fly tipping. @ouseburnlibdems @GarethKaneLD

Ending 2024 on a high! We've a few recurring #flytipping hot spots around the Ward. Unfortunately there is a strong correlation between them and the recycling facilities for the multi storey homes. So we've worked hard with @NewcastleCC and @NCCHousing to try to improve things

Didn't even make it to Christmas. Will @NewcastleCC do anything to make this junction any safer in 2025?
