Everyone at Nexus is saddened to learn of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty opened the system in 1981 and the Sunderland line in her Golden Jubilee year. We join with the rest of the country and the Commonwealth in mourning the loss of our monarch.

We are saddened to learn that our popular busker David Stokes has passed away. David regularly busked on Metro stations in Newcastle city centre and raised over £50,000 for charity.
Due to a swan on the line we have delays of up to 40 minutes to trains operating between Airport and South Hylton.
Metro tickets are being accepted on Stagecoach Buses 6,7,30,X47,X77 & X78 and all Arriva buses between Haymarket and Regent Centre.
Statement on station closures: We need to close stations in the centre of Newcastle this evening for safety reasons. This is in order to keep the Sam Fender crowd and the Pink crowd separate in order to prevent these stations from overcrowding. Thank you.

Due to serious youth disorder at Tynemouth trains will not be stopping at Tynemouth until further notice. We are really sorry to all our genuine passengers.
Our 40th anniversary train livery is in service on the original prototype Metrocar 4001. It features all the colour schemes since we opened - the 1980s PTE white and yellow; the red and blue block from the 1990s; the current sleek black and grey. Keep an eye out for it!

has had on our infrastructure. We have 7 incidents of fallen trees, which have damaged power lines. It is the worst winter storm to hit Metro in 41 years of operations. Our staff are still out there working on the repairs.
We are relaunching the Pop app for Tyne and Wear Metro, which will replace the previous Metro app on both iOS and Android from next week.
The Pop App will now be the only official app for Tyne and Wear Metro. It lets you track Metros in real time and plan your journey.

A lovely little dog was found boarding a train at Pelaw station with no owner, and is currently with our staff and will be at South Gosforth control to stay warm indoors soon. Please help us find the dog's owner!!
One of our drivers has rescued this lost tortoise from the tracks in the Pelaw area this afternoon. And we would love to reunite him with his rightful owner.
